Quickly and easily judge a player’s level of Gear.
This add-on shows a “Gear Score” number for any weapon item, armor item or character that you mouse-over. The gear score is a similar concept to an item’s iLevel number: more powerful gear has a higher rating number. However, they are different numbering scales and should not be confused with each other. The gear score also takes into account any enchantments or gems that you added, where an item’s iLevel does not.
A cumulative “Gear Score” total of all your currently equipped items is shown in your characters info window. This is frequently referred to as your “GS” in-game.
The colour that a gear score is shown in changes depending on how powerful an item is, ranging from grey or white at the bottom, then green, blue, purple and finally red.
Typing any of the configuration commands into your chat console window (such as /gs) will display the following help:

/gs player -> Toggles display of scores on players.
/gs item -> Toggles display of scores for items.
/gs level -> Toggles iLevel information.
/gs reset --> Resets GearScore's Options back to Default.
/gs compare --> Toggles display of comparative info between you and your target's GearScore.
