This add-on adds extra information about armor and weapon tooltip boxes, showings which character classes the items is best suited to. This is useful in dungeons and raids to quickly check at a glace if you need to /roll, “need” or “greed” on an item.
The item is rated with between 1 and 5 stars for each character class to show how suitable it is. Star ratings are only shown for classes that can equip the item and that can make use of it. No star rating will be shown for cloth class mages, priests or warlocks on a plate armor tanking item.
ClassLoot information will only be shown for end-game content that usually comes from raid bosses. Lower level gear will not usually show the ClassLoot tooltip information, and will show a ‘not found in database’ error if you try to use the /classlot check commands on such an item.
ClassLoot information can be accessed via the item tooltips in the normal mouse-over way, or by using the chat box /classloot slash command. Typing /classloot on its own will display the following help:
ClassLoot: Arguments to /classloot :
check - Display ClassLoot for an item locally
gcheck - Display ClassLoot for an item in guild chat
rcheck - Display ClassLoot for an item in raid chat
The slash commands allow you to easily share the ClassLoot information in your guild chat or raid chat channel.
To link the ClassLoot information of an item to your guild, type into your chat window box /classloot gcheck , then hold down your SHIFT key and click on the item to insert the link into your chat box. Then press enter.
